A robin (English robin) did perch on my shoe for a while once, but I suspect your stillness has to be saintly to have so many avian guests at once.

I have Jewish friends who are removing the flags from their bimas. I wish Catholics would do the same. The reasons NOT to have political flags on a dais are stronger than reasons to keep them.

From my shelves, an association copy. Buber's "I & Thou," a book that had a big impact on me. It was owned by the Japanese Pure Land Buddhism scholar, who taught at Smith College, Taitetsu Unno. Unno wrote an afterword 27 years ago for my first book.
