Denise and I were honored to attend the Blanc Gallery (Chicago) opening for the show "From Memory to Movement: Emmett at 85." So many powerful pieces, but it was this one by artist Roger Carter I kept returning to. From a distance I couldn't discern the medium. Then I got closer. Closer. Closer.

Went for a long walk today. Stumbled onto this etched into a sidewalk. Wasn't sure how to take this advice as a whole, but the first two words were fair criticism. 😉
Man I miss Baez. He reminds so many of us of how much fun baseball was when we were growing up - and how much fun it still can be.
Things always have a way of working themselves out.
Oh man Bobby Sherman died. "Cried LIke a Baby' was the first single I ever bought with my own money. Hey I was 11 and hadn't heard of Led Zeppelin yet. Not to diminish Sherman, cause "Baby" was in power rotation on my little phonograph.
If they suspend Habeas Corpus, it won't just be for "migrants" or "illegals" or "criminals." If they suspend Habeas Corpus it will be for you and me and whomever this regime decides is unfit, undesirable, and a threat or a problem. This is how it works. This is how it's always worked.

Enjoying ISU St. Louis at Redbird. All birds right now 32-13.
I wish Warren Zevon were alive to write a song called “Busted At A McDonald’s In Altoona.”
ISU makes 18 3-pointers, shoots 54% from the field, 90% from the line and still lose. Fun game to watch even if a frustrating outcome. But 19 turnovers can negate a lot of good things.
The bid came in nearly 3x greater than the estimate in 2017, and is receiving much community pushback. It will be interesting to watch how this will play out in the mayoral and council campaigns this Spring.

Does Matt Eberflus know his time has run out or is he oblivious to that as well?
