Nice to see a few Yellow Belle this morning alongside 30+ Heath Rustic at their Essex stronghold.
Cats at the Regents Park open air theatre this afternoon was entertaining. I hadn’t any idea what was happening but there were lots of dancing and singing cats! Memories….
Light Crimson Underwing seem to be established in NE Essex. These 2 were from the night before last in the garden. @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social
The first Clifden Nonpareil of the year in our NE Essex garden. I’d forgotten how big they are! @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social
The Wombats at the Crystal Palace Bowl earlier. I danced to Joy Division and celebrated the irony!

Not the pinkest Vestal I’ve seen but the first in the garden since 2023. Also 2 Rush Veneer and 6 Small Mottled Willow. @migrantmothuk.bsky.social

The first Ni Moth for the garden and a Beautiful Marbled this morning in NE Essex. Only 1 Small Mottled Willow, 2 Silver Y, 2 White-point and 3 European Corn-borer as other possible migrants. @migrantmothuk.bsky.social
Another Light Crimson Underwing, this time in the garden. They are having a good year in Essex.
@mothiduk.bsky.social From NE Essex last night. Unfortunately lost trying to pot it! It looks like a Stenoptliia with a white saddle? It’s wingspan was about 16mm.
It was a first for me to see both Dark and Light Crimson Underwing at the Fingringhoe Wick yesterday.
Sussex Emerald in the NE Essex garden overnight. A rare moth in Essex. Possibly a migrant but only others were 3 Small Mottled Willow, a Silver Y and Dewick’s Plusia. 20 plus European Corn Borer were probably local. @migrantmothuk.bsky.social
