We need emergency reservoir building. I don't know the legal framework required to do so, but we are heading in the direction of water emergencies. Drought + regular consumption + new consumption (data centres?) + firefighting against wildfires = water emergency (in my opinion).

If I had magical powers, I'd make it rain overnight at least two times a week, every week in the summer. I'd welcome occasional temperatures above 30 degrees in southern England but keep things between 22 and 27 degrees. But I'm just not being realistic.

We need: -more reservoirs to hold rainwater during the wetter months to help keep adequate supplies in the drier months. -a nationalised water supply so more income goes towards infrastructure repairs and building We don't need: -NIMBYism within councils blocking new reservoirs -Shareholders

National governments facing dry conditions and drought (including the UK) should put a temporary ban on shops and supermarkets selling disposable BBQs while also making it illegal to use bought ones during these prolonged dry conditions. Enforcement on places of cigarette disposal is needed too.

I hope Andy Burnham will be a good PM. I also hope he brings in proportional representation before the next general election rather than after (since he might not get the chance). Next GE needs to be PR - STV or better. I'm not confident he'll take us on a path back into the EU or SM though.

Farms need water to grow food There is no rain People need water to drink and wash in There are too few reservoirs Lack of rain and lack of reservoirs to capture the Autumn and Winter rain is a recipe for food insecurity and water insecurity. We've been too late to slow climate change.

I watched Project Hail Mary - it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me laugh and it made me bawl my eyes out. Possibly the most beautiful science fiction since Close Encounters of a Third Kind. Absolutely loved it! I'd like to forget I watched it and then watch it all over again.

Reports of power cuts due to the heatwave. I strongly advice that if you are using a computer plugged into the mains that you write a lot of data to your storage drives unless you have a highly rated uninterruptable power supply (UPS). Prioritise laptop useage. Don't do any BIOS updates.
