Watching The Yellow Sea and really struck by how much of this film is the protagonist eating single serving food from quick marts. Like a distracting amount of microwave meals

Apparently some folks don't know how to use the Block and Mute functions here, so I made a handy guide: BLOCK is for accounts that post terrible reactionary shit. MUTE is for accounts that constantly quote post accounts you've blocked in order to argue with them. Hope this helps
Lit a fire in the woodstove last night. Autumn has come to my little part of Asturias

Ten years ago, some weirdo vegan anarchists in Minneapolis laid down the blueprint for modern raw black metal. Pretty much every single album in the space since then is either directly or indirectly influenced by this album. fiadh.bandcamp.com/album/occult...

Just In Time makes the same people money that Just In Case would cost. Once you have terminally financialized your brain, it becomes impossible to prepare for eventualities that aren't 'market opportunities'.

I live rural, in the mountains, almost off-grid. I want the diesel I bought used to be my last ICE vehicle. Only two problems: - rural folks with animals and crops need to tow 1,000kg trailers for decent distances - No one out here is buying a truck that costs as much as a house Where is my EV?

What is it about living in #portland that makes people constantly post pictures of a mountain they never visit? Does this happen in other places?

Does anyone know the historical reason why some countries print book titles ascending on spines? I'm aware that descending titles are older, based on flat shelving, and the ISO standard, but I've never seen anything but opinion on why ascending titles exist. #booksky
I have only found one real drawback to eBooks: it is wildly difficult to peruse my TBR pile in an accidental, vaguely chagrined way when it's tucked away on a hard drive. Thus it grows exponentially without shame, whereas my physical pile is kept to a certain level by guilt alone. #booksky
It's kind of interesting that almost all of the reader content on bsky is fiction focused. One would think from skimming here that no one has ever read a nonfiction book. #booksky
