Every product has obvious flaws that make you wonder "How could they not fix this‽" But there's always a reason. Sometimes a good reason and sometimes a bad reason. I've learned to reserve judgement because there's often an interesting technical or organizational story behind them.

Just tuned in and heard @pfrazee.com mention that now when you change your <handle>.bsky.social to a custom domain handle it will reserve your old .bsky.social handle for you! This is one of those features that slipped through the cracks for way too long. Glad the team finally got to it! 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve worked with Flask the past few years and I’m maybe a bit disconnected but the thing is I don’t hear as much noise from Django community as for example rails. Django is so awesome I fail to see why people don’t engage as much

Just finished reading buttondown.com/carlton/arch... and I couldn't agree more with @carltongibson.bsky.social. His analysis and reasoning are spot on. I'd love to hear ideas on how we can improve the 'social' aspect of raising awareness for Django 3rd party apps.

Spent the weekend developing an app in Java with SpringBoot and some basic html and plain Javascript. It was years ago last time I did something in Java (and it was in college) and I'm surprised about how cool the experience has been. Will keep digging for sure. #java #springboot #javascript
