Using OSINT and geolocation methods, I figure out where people's videos were recorded (when they ask me to do that)

The latest episode of the @talkintauntauns.bsky.social podcast just dropped, and I'm on it! I sat down with Jim Lehane to talk about my geolocation work, but also about my love of all things Star Wars... and how those two interests can sometimes overlap! www.talkintauntauns.com/2026/08/ep-2...

Ep 232 - Talkin' Star Wars and Geolocation with josemonkey

We are joined today with famed geolocation expert, josemonkey. Josemonkey has made a name for himself "finding people who ask to be found", ...

I had planned to post a new geolocation video today, but I ran out of time to get it done. It should be out tomorrow, though, and I hope you guys feel it is worth the wait 😅 It was a very hard to find location!

Many people have suggested that I should try to win the Redfin Great American Home Search contest - which might be over already? - but guys, I'm pretty sure that I am not even allowed to play 😅

Just fyi, if you buy Chad nuggets, he frequently sends a thank you video in return. He just recorded this one for our buddy James who likes to make sure your boy Chad doesn’t go hungry.

Woo hoo, I reached 30K subscribers on YouTube! If you're currently considering abandoning TikTok, just a reminder that I post on YouTube, too, and now would be a great time to start watching me there 😜

I don't know if everyone knows this, but as a YouTube creator, when you are looking at people's comments on your videos, it will try to auto-suggest things you could say in reply. I assume these replies are AI-generated. They are often spot on, and frankly it's a bit unsettling.

I'm so glad I decided to add the guessing element to my failure compilation. I have learned where 3 of the 4 locations are, and my guesses weren't too bad! I'm pretty sure the last one is going to be WAY OFF though 😅 I'll make a follow-up video as soon as I can!

I posted a geolocation failure compilation today, and this time I decided to do something different: For each location, I'm taking a guess at where it might be, even though I don't know for sure. Once I learn the actual locations, I'm going to calculate a score based on how close / far off I was.

My YouTube Year in Review is convinced I’m a world traveler because I’m watch a lot of city walkthroughs, travel vlogs, etc. More often than not, I’m trying to learn to pronounce a city name or trying to verify what a location oooks like 😝 I felt that this award seemed appropriate, though!

And “award” for being “Most likely to find the coolest hidden travel spot and share it with everyone”

My next geolocation video for "Airport Week" should be up around 3PM today in the One True Time Zone (i.e., eastern), so let's hope TikTok decides to show it on your fyp! 😅 (It will also be on YouTube, of course.)

So, I just kicked off an airport themed week in my geolocation series, and I was tickled to see that YouTube gave my first airport video one of those dynamic like buttons - it turned into a little airplane! ✈️ It pleases me immensely 😝
