Another reason they're probably insisting that AI is actually intelligent; what they earn belongs to them and taxing them without representation would be morally wrong. When in reality the money will still go to the top, and AI representation would just expand the political power of the owners.

As an older person who identifies as a liberal but who is just as leftwing as the lefties who enjoy this pastime, I don't take it personally. I see it as a category error. The centrists and neoliberals who call themselves liberal are the source of the problem. Not the lefties criticizing them.
