Been really into poetry lately. Anyone read anything particularly interesting recently? Would love some recommendations.

So I did a thing. I haven't painted in acrylic in a long time. A very long time. Maybe ten years? More? This is an Orange King Zinnia. My supplies were pretty limited but it was still such a wonderful experience. I'm going to be doing more painting, I think. I have some thoughts on the next one.

I don't feel like I need to explain myself, but I'd like to let you all know that I've eaten far too much string cheese tonight...

Spent nearly all day studying animation software. If Dunning-Kruger is accurate, I must have blacked out during the unearned confidence portion.

These are the days where I wish I showed more interest in making vector art when I was young.

Currently studying some new animation software. The real challenge is starting from square one when you feel like a capable creative. Sometimes you have to be humble and admit you need to go through the whole process. Something I'm learning about for all aspects of life.

Okay. I want to go ghost hunting. It's ridiculous and there's lots of toys involved. How does one get into it?

If it's the "Final" Fantasy, how come they keep making more?

I had so much fun sharing art yesterday. Y'all are so talented. It's inspiring.

Having slept on the book I just finished reading and taking time to think about it. I'm even more frustrated than when I just finished it. Dug through some interpretations and frustration grew. I think it touches on one of my biggest gripes in storytelling: lore does not equal story.

The use of pure black for the road in this piece gives the impression of a chasm between the two subjects. Perhaps a metaphor? A fear of coming together? It's though provoking and makes me want to see more.

I've read six books in 24 days. The first four, great fun. The last two, frustrating slogs. Debating on whether or not to pivot to something different for the next one. Regardless, reading has been a blessed vacation from social media and my phone.

Endings: perhaps it's just an incredibly difficult thing to do for a writer. You build your reader up for page after page and the end has to deliver. And I think, maybe, writers get in their own head about the importance of that. Stop trying to twist people or surprise them. Just stay the course.

Okay. I just finished Marcus Kliewer's second book, the Caretaker. I wasn't going to read it after I finished his first book, but I gave it a shot. Both books are a fun, thrilling read but the lack of any real explanation and the "fuck you" endings really turned me off. Sour taste in my mouth. :(

Wanted to do a time-lapse piece from a composition that was more involved. Could have spent more time figuring out said composition but alas. Will bring that knowledge with me to the next one. Concept-wise, this is just me working out some ideas for an upcoming project. #cryptids #Bigfoot #monsters

How cool is this? I feel like I am drifting into the subject's mind and seeing beautiful chaos. Almost as if I could unfocus my eyes and the subject disappears and whole new image emerges.

I’ve also finished this but, large unframed works on paper can be tricky in an exhibition if you’re not hanging it yourself.
