Thank you to incredible people at the North Star Advocacy Center in Maryville for sitting down and discussing their work. The Center provides critical resources for people experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault. Facilities such as this depend on grant funding, donations, and volunteers.

People like Jamie in Scotland County are one of the many people across north Missouri who I have heard voice concerns about ICE. Nobody in our government should operate with absolute immunity. America needs legal and humane immigration enforcement and reform, but ICE has got to go.
This weekend was a busy one! Friday night the Scotland County Democrats had almost 100 show up in Memphis to hear from candidates, and Sunday the Chariton County Democrats had a huge showing (and a lot of pies and cakes get sold!). Momentum is building! Please vote by August 4!

Sam Graves's handpicked successor (a podcaster with a stalled out career) thinks St. Louis is in the 6th District. I pointed out to him it is not, and the best response he managed to choke out was that my voters would come from St. Louis. Someone needs to get that guy a map!
Last week I visited Leavenworth to see the largest ICE detention center in the KC metro. I heard firsthand accounts of alleged due process violations, detainees being unable to self-deport for months, and dehumanizing treatment. America must have both secure borders and a humane immigration system.
