The local sheriff’s office is going to pass on Flock cameras. That just leaves the city of Mount Vernon to reverse their decision. The job ain’t finished.

I spoke at council regarding Flock. The last few days after the adrenaline has worked its way out of my system, I’m feeling that people are waking up to what is happening. Whether or not things change is what I don’t share much confidence. But the job isn’t done.
Last year, I spoke at city council that their email cybersecurity policy was lacking. This is the second phishing email I have received this month. This was is from the Mayor of Mount Vernon. Look, this is going to be filed under “Proven accurate”
The chief of police is out talking to other media outlets. But has ignored every question I have sent him about Flock Cameras. There’s a meeting on Monday about these cameras. These things have got to go.

Well... here's a fun fact. I spent part of my afternoon downtown because I wanted to learn more about this commission. It has very little online presence, so I figured the best way to understand what it does was to attend one of its meetings.
So kids. It’s happening. The city of Mount Vernon is going to discuss Flock cameras. On July 27th there will be a committee meeting to initiate a formal review.
Flock cameras have now captured 150,000+ vehicles traveling through and around Mount Vernon. That's up from 100,000 in December. (transparency.flocksafety.com/mount-vernon...)
