Bumbling dad. Rah Virginia Mil, Hotty Toddy, Go Jackets.

2 days into middle school, 0 meltdowns. Also she walks to and from school and hasn't gotten lost or stolen. Crushing it.

Kid 2, the most social of the bunch, is dressed and ready for the bus. Sitting by the door tapping her foot ready to roll.

One great thing about the girls sleeping til 8 for the past couple of months is that I've been able to get up at a completely reasonable 6:30-7 and have some me time. Me time moves to 5 tomorrow and it's gonna wreck me.

Kid 2 has a very wiggly tooth. Floppy. She's currently deciding whether her fear of it falling out in her sleep outweighs her fear of me pulling it. Watch this space.

FIL is back from a month long work trip and is bringing donuts. The kids don't know. They're used to seeing him about every day. Pretty exciting times over here.

Kid 1 decided last minute that she wanted to play softball this fall and abandon dance. Fantastic. Love it. But her glove was already too small. Not enough time to break in a new one. Went to Play It Again, got a better fit, full leather, broken in glove for ~50% of retail. Dub.

the fact that we have to basically re-register our kids every yr for the same public school system they've attended for 5+ yrs and provide electric bills and mortgage statements and driver's licenses and grandparents' mother's maiden names and favorite colors and a rectal exam is pretty tiresome

Kid 1 has no camp this week, no spending the day at grandma's house, nothing. Mrs and I are busy with wfh, Kid 2 is at dance, and 3 is at daycare. She's basically getting 8hrs/day with her books for a week. As an introverted bookworm she couldn't be happier.
