Twitter/X and Reddit are forcing people to use official apps to access the sites. How do I, someone who doesn't want to give any of these companies my data, access posts other have made on these services?

So it was about preventing the enemies of the US from fixing the vulnerabilities US intelligence (that feels like an oxymoron with the current administration) is actively exploiting.
oh shit: someone who has actually read the report on the “jailbreak”. she‘s backing up Anthropic’s story that it’s nothing. they got fable to help fix some code with planted vulns www.lutasecurity.com/post/the-fab...
Not only considered it, but accepted it as the core reason. Greater tech literacy + empathy for others.
One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?
Tell me you don't understand who AI is for without saying exactly that...
Don’t you think AI can be a huge help for people with no leverage?
I hope Australia does the same. Imagine a world where tech giants can influence global politics because of the information they have access to. Then think about how close we are to that reality...
🇪🇺 Europe is moving to block Microsoft, Amazon, and Google from handling government health, financial, and legal data The "Tech Sovereignty Package" is set to be approved soon and will start a meaningful shift away from these companies.

Hey @scott.hanselman.com @troyhunt.com - do either of you have any suggestions how I can follow up for a response to a microsoft account recovery application that was submitted 7 days ago? Everything online says they respond in 24 hours, but my wife hasn't received any reply.
They know most cars easily do 100km/h right?
Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished a 21-kilometer (13 mile) run in Beijing in a stunning 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. https://cnn.it/4mLRxQ8
Why are we using 2.8K 3K and 4K values for screen sizes instead of megapixels?
While I doubt this is a result of the boycott against Telsa's Nazi-saluting CEO, its great to see the shift.
BYD sold 5,001 vehicles in Australia in January, a staggering 641% increase year-over-year, while Tesla managed just 501, leaving the American automaker in 24th place as Chinese brands continue their takeover of the Australian EV market. #BYD #Tesla /1
Might be controversial, but as a Discord user with a kid who wants to use it too, I am onboard with this.
if a multinational software corporation has to comply with many jurisdictions rules on what content they are allowed to serve to users, eventually a tipping point gets reached, and that complexity collapses to "everyone on the planet gets the most bubblewrapped version. we cbf tracking ts anymore"
#ICE (or anyone) pepper spraying some one like this when they pose no physical threat should be prosecuted as assault.
DHS should be embarrassed that their ICE agent hires are so soft they can’t handle being videotaped, even while masked, so they resort to pepper spraying women at close range. And we should be proud of the Santa Barbara women who stood their ground anyway.
"Self driving car" is a misnomer. These vehicles are driven by software running in data centres. They are drones in an automobile hive. They are computer driven cars but they don't do the computational work themselves.
Google doesn't have a compelling alternative to Mac OS and is actively destroying the best feature that differentiates Android from iOS. Apple is more than safe for now.
Google + Apple resulted in Google's search expanded reach. Now we're adding AI to the mix. Apple still controls distribution of the entire Apple ecosystem. Unless people stop using iPhones and Macs, then this is no different than any other Apple partnership including Google Maps and Intel chips.
The accounts the new, official #ICE account follows on #bluesky feels like when your insecure ex creates a new anonymous account to follow you and your friends to see what you're saying about them after everyone blocked them. bsky.app/profile/iceg...

Why is no one selling a robot lawn mower that looks like a Spice harvester? Or even a C&C tiberium harvester?
Donald #Trump is not eligible to be the President of #Venezuela. He is a convicted felon, and not a Venezuelan citizen by birth.
He has just obliterated an chance of finding an impartial jury.
After viewing the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota- he then proceeds to lie about EVERYTHING in it, aside from the fact that it is, indeed, "a horrible thing to watch." #25thAmendmentNOW
I haven't seen an Australian political response this spineless since John Howard agreed to follow George W Bush's invasion of the Middle East after 9/11. #auspol #Venezuela @albomp.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

So Trump illegally bypassed Congress to use military force on a foreign nation, lied about the reason for attacking Venezuela, and abducted the President of Venezuela? How is he still in power?
I am certain something would change if Grok was used to create images that upset Elon Musk—images of Teslas or Space X rockets on fire, his partner or children in compromising scenarios, etc—and they were posted en-mass all over Twitter in the same way these harassment images are.
So we just accept this then? This is a legitimate use of technology going forward? This vile individual's account is just prompt after prompt asking Al to alter real-life images of women. The law needs to catch up with technology now - because we can't trust these tech companies to police themselves
Great way to look at it. A little friction now will encourage us to fix issues while they are still small.
I know there was a lot of noise around Google's auto opt-in for smart features and how inbox is garbage when they're disabled, but I've kicked myself to unsubscribe from so much bullshit since deciding to keep em off. Welcoming some tech friction in the new year to reduce passive noise.
The social media ban was bad enough, now the government is forcing search engines to censor search results unless you're logged in to an age verified account...
Its morons like this that are responsible for the global economy's current state
