Should a candidate for office not be proud and supportive of country they are trying to be part of government for? Have not seen a lot of evidence of voters wanting to elect someone openly disdainful of the US.

A lot of people prefer Bluesky over Twitter because of the lack of Nazi’s and other Twitter grotesques. I prefer it because I can more easily filter out Mets posts.

#theodyssey is an interesting recontextualization of the classic epic. Nolan does his best to keep the mythic moments obscured in the shadows though, like he doesn’t really believe in them.
You remember Sam Neil as the bad guy in Event Horizon. I remember Sam Neil as the bad guy in Memoirs of the Invisible Man. We are not the same.

I had no problem with Democrats as the tax and spend party. Made sense. Turning to a populist focused no tax and still spend ideal is both predictable and bad.
I don’t think Binface can actually do it, but if somehow this was Farage’s exit from national politics it would be fitting on many, many, many, many levels.

The funniest thing about the Platner implosion is not how predictable it was but how quickly the Left is trying to recast him as just another tool of the elites. Apparently class really just means “whoever agrees with me and is winning.”
And the left voices on Bluesky love Democrats?
mtsw@mtsw.bsky.social · 4w agoI suspect the actual mechanism here is that Twitter's algorithm systematically promotes left voices who hate Democrats and the Democratic Party and all those people loved Platner vs Bluesky which doesn't have an algorithm at all.
I want the team to win but they definitely should not be doing this. That said, complaining about corruption in FIFA feels like the definition of spitting in the wind.
