I know I’ll paint over this because I can’t afford to waste a big (36x48) canvas on a subject no one wants to buy, but had to express something like political commentary in this hellscape we’re enduring. The distractions! I will enjoy taking the anger in this piece and transforming it.

“High Anxiety”, 10x16 acrylic on heavy 12x18 inch paper. 2019 maybe? I found this in a stack of paper pieces today. Did this during the first incompetent term while we were battling Covid and hate mongering and general stupidity. Who could have imagined it could get so much worse!?! #impeach #remove

“Natural Selection”, 36x48, acrylic, collage and oil on canvas. I have been very sad/mad for a while now. The world is so heavy. The only thing that really gives me respite is making these new works.

“Summer Storm”, 48x48 inches acrylic and collage on canvas. Getting there I think. What a fantastic feeling to stretch out your arms to fill the void, use a step stool to touch the sky of your piece. Such a joy to return to larger works. Echoes my own expansion perhaps?

“Seeking”, 40x40 inch acrylic and collage. on canvas. I am absolutely having a ball with these larger abstracts. I feel like I’ve come home. This one is based on Demeter’s grief and search for Persephone.

What I’m working on: Untitled, 40x40 inches, acrylic and collage on canvas. For me, abstract painting is like writing poetry, and just as challenging in a thrilling way to see what will emerge from nothing.

“Growing Season”, 24x24 inch acrylic and collage on canvas. Started with strictly an abstract in mind but that figure just insisted on being there. Obsessed with flowers and spring. Must find hope where I can.

“Mirage”, 20x16 acrylic on cradled panel. This is what happens if you hang around too long. You get reborn!! This is a redo, enhancing, changing and introducing new elements. One thing I esp love about painting. There’s always a second chance. Happy weekend.

“The Cruelest Month”, (April is), 10x10 inch acrylic on panel. The absolute savagery alongside the beauty of spring is unfathomable. TS Eliot wrote the Wasteland following the horrors of WWI. Now listed.

Untitled as yet, 30x30 acrylic on canvas. Not quite done but close, a bit of tinkering left to do. Been wrestling with this for days so I thought I’d post so you guys don’t think Ive just been lying around! 😂
