while crunching, I’d take my daughter to the park as a way to detach, focus solely on her, and clear my head. We took the same walk after I was laid off. She tripped and began crying. Through my own tears I told her, “it’s okay to cry when we fall, but we pick ourselves back up and we’ll be okay.”
TBH - I didn’t want to take the role at first. But I’m a combat veteran, a marine sniper, a filmmaker. I felt the responsibility of the opportunity and the duty to do it right. I knew I’d be reopening old wounds, confronting my PTSD, sharing a truth. I gave it my all and it still wasn’t enough.
Working in games is called a Dream Job because one day you wake up and it’s all over.

I’m loving Lanterns. Writers did great setting up the scene with the scope/rifle package deal to parallel Hal/John - even did the research and got the scope brand right. But this shot missed the mark with a goofy ass pose, a marine sniper would’ve just bought a spotting scope or binoculars.
