I recently looked at over 850K social accounts connected to Buffer to see which platforms are seeing the most growth (in terms of follower counts). LinkedIn is leading the pack with a median annualized growth rate of around 18%, and Facebook is at 0%, with only 43% of accounts showing any growth.
This was a great reading year for me. Thanks to @buffer.com's generous book reimbursement program I was able to read 26 books, 19 of which were fiction. In the thread below I'll share my three favorites of the year.
My 2025 year in review from @buffer.com: - I was ranked exactly 115,290th in terms of posts sent this year. Really need to crack the top 100K next year 😅 - Surprisingly I was ranked in the top 15% in terms of total engagement. I'll take it! - Bluesky was my top platform 🤝
For almost a year, Sr Software Engineer @ Buffer, Arek Panek lived inside one of the most stubborn product mysteries at Buffer: posts getting “stuck in processing.” A tiny percentage of updates that were neither sent nor errored. Just stuck. This became his North Star, & he refused to let it go!
Today we're launching a big new feature called Community. It helps you manage comments and replies on LinkedIn, Threads, X, Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky in @buffer. The team has worked really hard on this, and it's available for free. Check it out! buff.ly/12vyzLp
We Built a New Feature to Help You Manage Comments on 6 Platforms
With Buffer's Community, you can see and reply to comments from Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, X, and LinkedIn — all in one workspace. For free.

Some fun changes are coming to Buffer, just in time for Halloween 👻
👋 Julian here, Buffer's resident data scientist. Have you ever wondered how we come up with the best times to post for each platform? Well, today's your lucky day. Let's dive in. 1/10
A new @buffer.com leaderboard for you all: these are the team members with the most consecutive weeks hitting their posting goals. Kudos to these Bufferoos 👏
Some new @buffer.com data on engagement over on X. Premium accounts definitely get more engagement (and reach), and link posts have been getting punished for non-Premium accounts.
Last week I shared a @buffer.com leaderboard for LinkedIn posting streaks, and this week it's Threads' turn. Brandon (@bgreen.lol) absolutely crushing the rest of us with a 62 week posting streak 😮 What's next?
Trying something new that was suggested to me last week: a @Buffer.com posting streak leaderboard specifically for LinkedIn! Jenny takes the top spot this week with 19 consecutive weeks of great content 👸
It's been a minute, but here's the latest @buffer.com streaks leaderboard. It doesn't change much so I'm thinking of doing something different, like ranking folks by the number of consecutive weeks in which posting goals are met. What do you all think?
New @buffer.com posting streak leaderboard, featuring new colors and, by popular request, randomized ordering within streak groups 😁 Let me know what you all think!
Last week I analyzed over 2 million Instagram posts from over 100K accounts to understand how posting frequency affects growth and reach. Check it out here:

Lots of new names and faces on the Buffer streaks leaderboard this week!
This week I spent some time analyzing how posting frequency affects follower growth. This analysis of over 15 million posts from 160K profiles provides evidence that, unsurprisingly, posting frequency has a clear, positive impact on follower growth. Check out the analysis here: buff.ly/pT74Bqz
This was a fun plot to build and will be super useful when reviewing our key metrics. XmR charts may not be perfect but they go a long way in helping us understand www.linkedin.com/posts/heaton...
Too many teams overreact to normal metric movement. | Simon Heaton
Too many teams overreact to normal metric movement. Your boss sees a KPI drop week-over-week, and panic ensues. But most of the time, these aren’t meaningful changes. They’re just routine variation.…

One of the most gratifying aspects of @buffer.com achieving its all-time high in MRR is seeing the acceleration of growth. Not only is MRR higher than it has ever been, but we're growing faster than we have in a long time.
We often get asked how we determine the best times to post for each social platform. In this blog post I share a more in-depth look at the methodology we use to suggest posting times for Instagram. symphonious-shortbread-cd2770.netlify.app/posts/best-t...
I'm not sure how it happened, but we have a new leader in the @buffer.com posting streaks leaderboard 🏅
The second @buffer.com posting streak leaderboard, featuring a few new faces. Tami retains the coveted top spot in the leaderboard but there's still an 8-way tie for first.
It's happening... (again). It's been a long time and I'm excited to start sharing data insights from my work at @buffer.com more regularly again.
I'm way late to this, but how are #rstats people liking Positron now that it's been out for a while? RStudio still works great for me and I haven't yet found a compelling reason to switch, but I'm curious to hear what people think
Introducing the @buffer.com posting streak leaderboard. I'll try to share a weekly update (keeping my own streak alive) and hopefully add more avatars to the plot. Made in #rstats.
