Last week, my colleague and I had to break up a fist fight in class. One of the students had the other in a choke hold. We literally had to tell the student to let him go so he wouldn’t ruin his life. Both students were not suspended. They were put on a “behavior tracker.”
I cannot stop thinking about Xavier Amaya, the 17 year old high school student at Franklin High who was chronically bullied, beaten in class, and killed himself as he was chased by his bully. It's so horrible. And it is melding in my brain with the Cornell rape case.
