Well that was fun. Made a pinhole camera. Hung out with neighbours. Swapped different methods for watching. Pinhole camera is sharp but small. Two bits of card worked well. Colandar was fun. Had a go on some glasses. Better than the last one, where I was running a summer playscheme....

Camus famously argued that there was an ethical imperative to be neither victims nor executioners; I would add that in this day and age it is equally important, and equally difficult, to be neither marks nor grifters.

This is really good. We've known for years that a whole school approach, adopting more consensual, less hierarchical, teaching and pastoral interventions makes for happier kids (that get better results). Adopting youth work methodologies and refunding the 73% cut has got to be on the table.
