I started sharing my writing online in 2015, and if it weren’t for all the wonderfully kind people leaving comments and encouraging my (somewhat crude) writing (compared to now), I would have felt a lot less motivated to continue 🥹 All of them shaped me and kept me going; made me want to improve.

there's a XV fic that I will not name that made me feel so insanely seen on so many levels that I wrote a two-part essay in the comments crying about how deeply touched I felt. went back to reread, and in the comments the author had left that they were working on one last chapter for the readers.

Around when I began writing and didn’t have any confidence in my writing, I had this one follower who would comment every chapter of my fic so nicely I ended up writing more than 150 K words. They would comment what they read and what it made them feel. Now I’ve written about 80 fics, 6 long ones.

my favorite comments are the ones where a person invites me to discuss the characters, the story, our interpretation of the original artwork itself. Obviously, I like praise as much as the next person, but I think commenting is bigger than that. it's about fandom as conversation!
