San Jose photographer. Bodyscapes, Figures. Often combined with nature and / or plastic. “That’s weird!!!” is a compliment

“Curves at the Base of a Wall” With @goblingoddess.bsky.social a couple of years ago . Beautiful little ravine that I wish we could have had time to explore some more.

“Storm Clouds” With @frances.in.frame (IG) last year . . I used to do this tossing up plastic and freezing it with flash using fabric. But it was too pretty. I should try it again though cause it gives a different look. Just wish I had a real studio. But I guess constraints are good?

“Back and Front” With @v.wild.art (IG) and @goblingoddess.bsky.social a couple of years ago during @venus_de_tierra (IG) event . . I love rocks with nooks and crannies

“Many Gazes” With @jjennjones (IG) a couple of years ago . . Multiple multiple exposures on top of each other.

“Slope and Arch” With @gazellepowers.bsky.social four years ago . . An example of “push the shutter button a lot and here and there you’ll get something you like”. But I guess the more you push the button the less times you need to push the button to get something that you like?

“Floating on Sand” With @unwantedbutstillhere_ (IG) a couple of years ago in southern Utah . . The sand and the brush. Smooth surface and scraggly texture. And then the resilience and fragility and curves of the human body.

“Not Comfortable with Being Seen” With @goblingoddess.bsky.social and @v.wild.art (IG) from 3 years ago. . . Note: these are not natural colors ;) But these are natural women and natural rocks and natural (?) plastic. . The sunset was A-Mazing that day

“Twisting” With @jjennjones (IG) . . 3 variations. They each feel a bit different. But which one do you enjoy more. And most importantly: why? . . I love this pose because it is a two layered bodyscape with a curve. And it has depth which challenges where the focus should be.

“Two Torsos and a Leg” with @Titaniaartmodel (IG) and @viviancove.bsky.social from 3 years ago . . Kinda a bodyscape but usually I have a background of some sort showing with bodyscapes. So in this case it’s more of an abstractscape? Is that a word? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Slice of Body With Light 21” with @Monique.dreams (IG) and @earthyeva.bsky.social from 4 years ago. . . A double light source version of the slice of light setup which is how I originally did them. I would like to try to do more of them this way but studio space is difficult.

“Hands, Foot, Mirror” with @frances.in.frame(IG) a couple of years ago. . . Just experimenting with mirror compositions, which I find really hard.

“Disappearing Nature” with @goblingoddesss.bsky.social, @sirena.earth.model (IG), @v.wild.art (IG) during a @venus_de_tierra (IG) event a couple of years ago along a river in Utah . . Another “who needs focus when you use slow shutter” moment. Or moments, since this is photoshop of 3 or so images.

The Climb” With @viviancove.bsky.social from 2023 in my favorite dunes during a @venus_de_tierra (IG) event. . . Dunes are challenging to walk on and create on as wind whips sand in your face and feet sink back with each step. But with the right dunes, it’s worth it.

“Textures of Rock and Body” From 2021 somewhere in Utah . . The pairing of contrasts of the textures, lines, and curves of a rock surface and a human body makes me realize a sense of awe of nature.
