watching this G1 show a bit late- i really liked tsuji/jake a ton. i get the sense that the clown paint stuff will probably be a bridge too far for some people (i haven't really seen any takes on it, i'm just assuming), but i thought all the work they did in between was really good
went back to this same arcade in manhattan today and this happened AGAIN at chunithm. so that’s now four times in two weeks (three there, once at otakon) that someone apparently thinks the “give up the machine when people are waiting” rule just doesn’t apply to them for some reason

i actually have no clue what that bullshit was that happened in today’s jays game cause A) i didn’t watch it live & B) i didn’t hear about it till after they had already won. i may deliberately never find out what actually happened now
had never seen leah night wrestle before her tag on this marvelous korakuen i’m currently watching but she looked pretty impressive, and then i looked up her cagematch and found out she’s only wrestled 49 (!) matches so far
i spent something like 16 of the last ~36 hours working on a japan travel panel for an anime con that i’m expecting around 10 people to show up for (if i’m lucky) because they scheduled me for 2 pm on a thursday (in their biggest room lol)
why exactly am i supposed to care if a japanese wrestler is right wing or not. what effect does that have on my life exactly. this makes even less sense than when people worry about the politics of american wrestlers and that’s really saying something

today’s show was this year’s worst G1 show by a mile. just one snoozefest after another. only thing i’d recommend at all is ZSJ/drilla and it’s not like that was anything that special really
suzume vs shoko absolutely ruled unsurprisingly but more importantly BEE FC SURVIVES
that quarterfinal was the ultimate torn one for me given how much i love them both but i think i’m happy to see HIMAWARI pull off the upset
