“Fuck,” Jayce grunted and turned the key in the ignition. The car engine sputtered and then, after one last gasp... silence. “Okay, V. Any brilliant ideas?”
“We could,” Viktor began uncertainly, “try asking for help from whoever lives there?” he suggested, pointing toward a large mansion atop a hill. The lights were on, and the green-tinted windows gave the place an otherworldly look. Jayce squinted and he could have sworn someone was standing in front of one of the upstairs windows. Waiting.

When Jayce’s car breaks down in the middle of the road, he is forced to seek help at a strange mansion, but what he finds there are the ravings of a Doctor and the certainty that the apocalypse is coming.

In the slasher genre, a killer's method says a lot about their mindset and motive. Are they efficent and clean? Messy and sadistic? Use these prompts wisely, or Jayce and Viktor may not survive...

Please interpret these prompts as creatively as you like. In fact, we encourage you to think outside the box with how these items appear in your fanwork!

PROMPTS GUIDELINES: Our first set of prompts is inspired by classic slasher archetypes. How will you incorporate these into your story?
Will Jayce and Viktor fill these roles, or will they find them in other places?

Remember that archetypes exist to establish or subject traditional expectations. They create contrast when grouped together, or set you up for a suspensful twist when used in a new way.

Note: We have purposefully omitted archetypes with a history of being racially charged. Violence against black women, including the characters Mel and Sky, will not be tolerated in fanworks for this event.
