Great to see @kkdumez.bsky.social tonight talk about her new book: Live, Laugh, Love. Spent a few minutes catching up (and then the woman running the book signing line started getting impatient!).
Yes. Despite everything, there will still probably be 800,000-1,000,000 people who get green cards this year. This is part because backlogs in many categories are so long that even if the Trump admin blocked 50% of applicants, there are enough people in line that total numbers wouldn’t drop.

Too be clear, the empirical definition of Christian nationalism is not “loving Jesus and being patriotic.” CN is a desire to fuse a particular expression of Christianity with American civic life, with the gov’t at all levels preserving and enforcing that fusion.

Claiming to value "intellecutal freedom" while shutting down African American and Women's Studies reinforces the fact that the center is an authoritarian project, not a sincere attempt to expand intellectual life.
