Boomer who still believes that by working together for the greater good we can make the world a better place for future generations. Follower of Jesus, not some charismatic minister.

Trump: "Why shouldn't I give nuclear powers to the folks who bankrolled bin Laden, slaughtered Khashoggi and paid $2 billion in hush money to my automated son-in-law? They say nice things about me and have lots of shiny stuff."

What's the point of seeing a post on bluesky only to find out you can't join the conversation? That's just doom-scrolling. We will get out of this mess if and only if we come together and share ideas.

I voted in South Carolina by mail. The ballot went out at 9am Monday, and it took until Friday to arrive and get counted from Ohio. I was afraid I might miss the deadline because of the USPS. At least right now, things seem to be moving reasonably.

"Iran did not immediately confirm any deal." Amazed that people still report stuff based on Trump's word. I suspect these announcements are designed to manipulate markets for the benefit of Trump, his family, friends and donors. apnews.com/article/iran...

US and Iranian negotiators reach tentative deal to extend ceasefire and start new nuclear talks

U.S. and Iranian negotiators have reached a tentative agreement to extend the ceasefire by 60 days and start a new round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program.

Politico headlines a routine political maneuver with violent terminology: "twist the knife". Not only is corporate media NOT reporting on MAGA violent rhetoric, but they are making up such rhetoric to attribute to the MAGA resistance. www.politico.com/live-updates...

Capitol agenda: Dems try to twist knife in Trump-GOP tensions

Democrats will look to the “vote-a-rama” process to squeeze vulnerable Republican incumbents on a range of Trump priorities and controversies.

Vacationed in MAGA-Land where the gas is below $4 and "now hiring" signs proliferate. Roads and infrastructure are new and shiny. It's a little easier for me to understand how MAGA could still think everything is fine. There is no longer any "news" to turn on in America that disrupts the fantasy.

Does the first vice president of the Oldham [KY] County Republican Women’s Club care about the Epstein files? “Not really,” she confessed. “We have so many other important things going on,” like “the border and girls’ sports.” (Only one transgender female athlete competed in 2022 before the KY ban)

“Every time I’ve done what I thought was right, even though I thought it might cost me my job, I end up keeping the job.” @smencimer.bsky.social reports on Rep. Thomas Massie, the proud, forever pain in the ass.

Among the 7 Senate races in Indiana where Trump is trying to oust the incumbents, he's winning 5 out of 7. Republicans in these Indiana districts are not turning against Trump despite what the headlines might say.

I'm amazed at how eagerly leading lights in the resistance movement repost Trump here on Bluesky. Is there anyone in this movement that doesn't understand that Trump posts stuff to distract people from the terrible stuff he is doing? Is he just THAT irresistible to those who need clicks?

Trump himself admits here that he is running his administration without any constraints of the Constitution or his constituents. So quit wasting your time trying to convince your MAGA friend. If they don't believe Trump's words, they won't believe yours.

Trump: "I do believe I'll be having the honor of taking Cuba. That's a big honor. Taking Cuba in some form. I think I can do anything I want with it, if you want to know the truth."
