I've converted another soul to Linux, and somehow it's my dad.

Mine are arranged by "yeah it'll fit here." And then woe be unto me on the day when I get a new book from an author already on the shelf.

Went to the library after work yesterday. @hiss-graphics.bsky.social and I got lost just browsing through bookshelves for a while. Visit your local library. It's a place as magical as any book it houses.

This is no where near enough. It needs to be stopped entirely. But it's a good first step, and one I hope my home country takes sooner rather than later.

Interested in the readers of #booksky 's take on this. When reading #Fantasy - of any variety - do you prefer one-offs, or series? Shorter books, or longer epics? I love reading longer series, myself. I like seeing the ramifications of each story and how characters grow and change over time.

If they ever release a Monster Hunter game with Rise's palamute mount, Wilds' control scheme and focus mode, World's ecology, and GU's roster and village system, I will die a happy man.

I finally replaced my writing laptop today. The old one had to be plugged in at all times and was something I bought in... I think 2011. And it was already secondhand then, from a pawn shop. It's weird to go from the old clunker to something that actually works, but I look forward to using it.

The nice thing about being introverted and keeping to myself is that when people invent new, awful words to call each other, they don't get added to my vocabulary. And then sometimes I see them and have to Google what a word means, and I just become disappointed in this world.
