cheiropachus quadrum seen in Jersey today on deadwood. A new addition to my list
29/06/26, jersey sand pit, cylindromyia brassicaria…. i think. Welcome any thoughts @chrisraper.bsky.social
A rather cool find from a Jersey sand pit location yesterday, a Mediterranean plume footed mite, eatoniana plumipes #arachnid
Paykullia maculata and peplomyza litura sheltering from the heat in a Jersey woodland today #diptera
A couple of locally rare (or more likely under recorded) visitors to my Jersey garden today, diplazon laetatorius I think and closterotomus trivialis.
Some #diptera highlights from a wander down val de la mare reservoir. Possibly, Gastrolepta anthracina (m), platycheirus manicatus (f), a paragus sp (m). And a compromyzinae sp. The first two would be new finds for me
Delightful amber snail from a macroinvertebrate survey yesterday
I think this caddis larvae keys out nicely to hydropsyche angustipennis, a potentially new caddis fly to be recorded in the Channel Islands if verified. From a macroinvertebrate survey in the NE of Jersey this morning
Ichneumon wasp on the wall of the house today, not seen one quite as dull brown as this one
A new tipulidae for me today from the west of the Island, tipula vernalis male I think. Will be a 1st for Jersey too if verified.
