It would be rad if we didn’t have minute-to-minute coverage of elections and just reported results when they were finished. This exasperated, hyperventilating theater is good for ratings but also just bullshit.

Wild that people are voting for candidates who are taking positions they are screaming for and promising to actually do things over stale political theater and social media posts that had to be bought for $1,500 a pop. Someone make it make sense.

Enjoying former Republicans who escaped their sinking ship and climbed aboard the Democratic Party’s ship and demanded the controls are talking about needing to find a new party now that a handful of primaries aren’t going the way they want. Go knock on Trump’s gilded door. I’m sure he’s waiting.

Corporate media in the age of monopolization isn’t worried about ratings or views, those are secondary to appealing to oligarchs and corporations who will supplement lost viewership in order to ensure control of mainstream discourse and the information diet of politicians and parties

You start to notice something of a pattern. Establishment Democratic voices fearmongering over the Left consistently deny genocide, constantly use AI, rely on fat/homophobic and ableist attacks against Trump and MAGA, and are largely silent about protecting gay and trans people.

When trying to understand the Right Wing, it helps to realize they have spent their lives pretending to be someone they aren't and sublimating parts of themselves they hate and that they have to project that pain and hatred onto others because the tension is so unbearable it will destroy them.

The truth about AI-generated content and writing is that, if you're actually paying attention and are actively engaged, you can tell the difference. AI only works in a society where people are dissociating and distracted and unengaged. That's the point of it. To just forward an unlived life.

Probably a good time for people to consider their media diet. Are the people you listen to using AI? Covering for a genocide or ignoring it? Telling trans people to be quiet? Peddling open Islamaphobia? Ceaselessly self-promoting? Offering dogshit "analysis" designed only to make you feel better?

One of the most important issues of our time is that the future of humanity is presently being authored by people who have nothing but total contempt for humanity and seek the erasure of everything that gives being a human meaning. It’s not just annoying. It doesn’t just suck. It’s existential.

Sam Altman: cool use case of chatgpt work i heard last night:

connect your family calendars and explain your kids' interests.

every morning for the drive to school, have it make a podcast that talks about one kid's soccer game that afternoon, one kid's upcoming birthday, some news, etc.

It’s fun watching voices who attacked anyone who even expressed difficulty voting because they didn’t want to support genocide turn around and encourage people not to vote because they might lose a primary. Hopefully this vote blue no matter who nonsense has been exposed at this point.

It would probably help things a lot if people wrapped their heads around the fact that "moderate influencers" like Matty Yglesias make a living reassuring wealthy people they aren't becoming increasingly right wing while preparing moderate middle class voters to become increasingly right wing.

The Stevens campaign has been one of the most shameful Democratic operations of the modern era. Thank god this thing is almost over, but if the party doesn’t take a look in the mirror after this debacle, and I’m sure they won’t, there’s a lot of pain and chaos coming down the road.

Chuck Todd shilling for a political prediction market like it’s college football is just so perfect and tells you everything you need to know about the kind of corporate media coverage that helped get us into this mess.

Chuck Todd on Twitter: Donald Trump Jr has incredibly long odds to be the GOP nominee in ‘28 on FanduelPredicts but there’s a reason I’d much rather bet on him than JD VanceChuck Todd caption over picture of JD Vance: “you can make money on that later”

Probably a good sign that Democrats should continue doing exactly what they're doing when they're facing a historically unpopular president fighting a historically unpopular war during historically terrible economic conditions and they have approval ratings in the 30's and are dead-ass fucking broke

When a party alienates its base so badly that the base moves into electoral rebellion and the party goes into hyper-active defense and starts ratfucking to protect its power it always ends well for the party

All of the signals and pressures, politically and economically, are trending toward a major escalation against Iran and no part of this situation lends itself to any kind of positive outcome. Shit feels like it’s about to get much worse.

Helps to understand what’s going on by starting with the fact that all the tech oligarchs have merged with the military industrial complex and that a global arms race and eventually all-out war where they sell the weapons of the future to everyone is the next step in leveling up.

Have to imagine breaking up OPEC as a load baring institution of American Empire, creating more divisions in the Middle East, and then setting Saudi Arabia up to enrich uranium as the entire economic and political structures of the region are being overturned is going to turn out well. Excited.

Have to imagine it's a complete coincidence that the same outlets publishing one piece after another talking about how extremely dangerous and unacceptable the Left is are also laundering genocide and normalizing targeting of trans people while featuring puff pieces on Far Right fascists.

Always get a kick out of people who, after all this time, are still penning articles and posting things like, "This is going to get a lot worse unless the Trump Administration changes course." My dude. They're not there to make things work. They're there to steal. Open your fucking eyes.

There’s something very dystopian about an authoritarian president letting the country know he’s planning on rigging elections and the main takeaway from people is either that he was boring or that they didn’t watch it. Everything feels so out of fucking whack right now.

He doesn't need proof. He just needs to believe that he can do whatever he wants and commit whatever crime and harm people in any way he chooses without institutional resistance and he has more than enough evidence on that front.
