Anyway, I'll be moving to New York at the end of the month, so if anyone has recs for places to live within an hour of Tarrytown please let me know. I'm open to Connecticut or New Jersey to get cheaper property taxes. Also if anyone has a rec for an LGS in the Westchester area, hook a catbug up.

Just a little guy trying to live to see them die.
Spoken like a man who has never owned a long haired dog.
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
Took a longer nap than I intended, but my headache is better.
This afternoon, I've been trying to file my unemployment for last week, since I was travelling Sunday and yesterday (ironically for a job interview). The Massachusetts Unemployment site has crashed seven times during this process, and needs me to enter a new 2FA code each time. I may go mad.
I do not understand why we have had so many Hatsune Miku Secret Lairs.
That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.
Well it only took three months but I finally got a lawn service to actually show up and mow my yard!
Dog successfully retrieved. She is extra needy right now.

I am home. Interview went *amazing*. Pretty sure I have this one in the bag, but I won't hear anything until the end of the week.
It's funny to me how much I love my step-nephews, because I'm 80% sure they don't know my actual name, just "[stepmom]'s brother".
My hotel is 2 miles from a poke shop, so ya damn right I'm getting a poke bowl for dinner.
I'm going to be quoting "I've got inner peace and a fucking scythe" for *years*.
"Being trans is sad Being trans is horrid." Shut up. Being trans is great. Look. I've got inner peace and a fucking scythe.
Love waking up from a stress nightmare drenched in sweat. Best way to start the day.😐
Am I seriously considering buying these $6 kid's Halloween costume Minion googles for my Loot plushie? Yes. VERY seriously. a.co/d/0hSF7NpZ

I have reached the level of old where I have Opinions™ about the color of mulch they used in front of Trader Joe's.
Cw: weight Went to Kohls and bought a new blazer and khakis for the interview because I'm officially down 42 pounds from 2024 (127 from my heaviest, ~2003) so my existing suits are... Roomy.
Finally have my travel figured out for my interview next week. They originally proposed having me fly from Logan to LaGuardia and then take a car service up to Westchester. It would take longer just to go to Logan and get through security that it would to drive straight there, so I proposed that.
One bit of good news: my ACA health insurance, which I switched to when my COBRA subsidies ran out, covers my diabetes meds more than I expected. It was free under my old plan (because I'm on my former company's drug, and anything we made was free), but I just got a three-month supply for $75.
I *finally* found a lawn service who would a) give me an estimate and b) actually schedule me in the calendar. After this weekend I should be able to go outside without being embarrassed by the state of my yard.
Speaking of unemployment, I have an in-person interview on Monday in New York (Westchester-ish, not NYC) and they haven't sent me the travel info yet, which is giving me major anxiety.
The most important lesson I've learned from nine months of unemployment is that I will not survive retirement.
I'm still low-key mad that my grocery store was out of Charmander Goldfish.
I am deep cleaning the kitchen, including oiling the butcher block on the island and polishing all the stainless steel. The dog is very upset that I was on the floor petting the dishwasher and not her.
This steak almost makes up for the frog jumpscare. Almost.
