While I do my studies I can get the colors right, pick good contrasts and values. But then I start rendering an actual piece and I just fall straight into my old habits?!... I shaded green with darker green, have non consistent lighting and it just looks flat and boring 😒 (except the shorts tho 👌)

I am speechless… I think I finally unlocked my understanding of rendering colors! The key? A freaking bell pepper 🫑… I was staring at my drawing in pure disbelief the whole time I was rendering it. I still cannot believe it. It’s the first time I’ve picked the right colors myself. And understanding.

Why you still stress about making mistakes in your art when it literally changes NOTHING??? (Had no time for an Earth-Chan fanart sadly 🤣)

Been away for while, the fire within me had died out. But I tried to light it again. I’ve been playing with actual paint for a while (gouache), studying colors. And for the first time in life I finally started to grasp some color theory (beyond the basics). But translating it to digital is hard lol

I miss drawing because I felt like it. The time where I didn’t worry about posting my art. Not fearing how it’d be picked apart to see if it could be AI, not being criticized for my workflow, not being distrusted because my style changed all the time because I loved exploring…I wish I could go back
