the way I am made to take note of these white guys like they're record-breaking trout
the level of friendlessness that j.d. vance exhibits... buddy has to kidnap the pope
Shane Gillis is such an interesting case, because you have this guy who is unfunny, but also: he's bad-looking
Breaking the 4th wall for a second: I find our meetings to be very helpful in making me feel less despair, and even with everything that's going on in my life and the world taking one small action feels good, especially when there are other people doing it with me. Our group can help you. Join us.
one thing I tell myself these days, when everything feels irreparable, is that you don't have to fix everything, and you never have to go it alone. if you find one thing you can do consistently in the company of others, you will have accomplished so much more than you can rightly enumerate.
Rabbi Tarfon said: “You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”
in case you need it: here's my favorite tiny orange, George, the rescue / foster fail who owns my parents.
this guy wandered up with a press box of fleas and a tooth deficit. (there's a star-shaped gash under his chin; I'd guess some machinery left that, and bashed up his gnashers for good measure.) one bath and Churu in, he's feeling a little more himself.

@jpinckney.bsky.social simply dropping in to say: you seem like a cool cat! keep up the great work :)
if we were numerate enough--if we understood how many women and girls are made sacrifice to the altar of promising young men with bright futures--we might not survive it. accounting for that loss will take the rest of my life, and yours. but we've got to; that's the only way of killing the thing.
investigative podcast into Yorkshire Tea's (discontinued) Toast & Jam brew...
happy Saturday. this morning I met with an antiques dealer, ostensibly to discuss early box cameras, but in effect to be pursued from room-to-room by his eleven-year-old grandchild who is "more talented than Jaafar Jackson."
so many of you supported Pat's fight. he passed away last night, warm and generous to the end. I think of him as the best of us; but his care, his open heart? they're still here. I see them reflected in the kindness of strangers. I see them in you.
Pat is one of my dad's favorite people in the world. let's do what we can to keep him well and with us. link below. 💜
AHHHH!!!! exciting stuff from one of my favorites!
HELLO, brief announcement: My short murder mystery, "Murder on the Honeymoon," was published in the anthology "Ten Little Mysteries" by Golden Age Mysteries Ltd. in 2025! I never made an official post, so here I am saying I'm very proud of this story which now lives out in the wild!
today in the boonies: my mom asked the internet provider if they could please look into why the connection keeps getting interrupted, and the lady told her to get off her phone and try gardening 😭😭😭
I think of Santos when I see my cousin, talking shop at our grandma's house. I swear that I've seen him cross the street, engulfed by a backpack full of schoolwork and permission slips, the possibilities paper makes incarnate.
in 1973, Santos Rodriguez was murdered. the case and its outcry weren't limited to Dallas, where he grew up playing soccer; Jimmy Carter would meet with activists to review photos of Santos, handcuffed in a cruiser, shot during the extraction of a coerced confession. he was 12.
I don't get paid enough for this, my role as God's precious scamp
in further updates, here is Not My Cat, Percy (Persimmon), princess and custodian of my father's heart. she likes to try shoes on for size.
Tarragon is happy because for the space of a day, she thought Berg had gone from us, leaving her Mother's Sole Comfort (Bergamot was in hiding on account of a repairman, he is very much ok and still among us)
for your joy: Tarragon, the happiest girl
@frood.bsky.social I am currently looking at the little French raccoon you sent me ages ago!
thanks so much for sharing my excitement for this gorgeous book--and for bearing with me, and my sporadic social media appearances! the winner is...
happy Pride! to celebrate, I'd like to share something beautiful: @sjane.bsky.social's miraculous HOTEL ALMIGHTY. joy is more than something scavenged, in this meeting of collage and erasure. it's carved in relief, every page triumphant. comment "pick me!" I'll draw a name at the end of the month.
@ouisequitur.bsky.social what is the clarimy situation?
