I, too, have been following the adventures of Freddy the German here for the World Cup, and it's made me realize that Americans really love genuine earnestness. We see it, we eat it up every time, and reflect it tenfold. It's really that simple.

I only chipped two nails at #CinemaCon so I think that means I win.
The #Whalefall footage, in my opinion, elicited the most visceral reaction among #CinemaCon attendees. When it ended, the entire room was just collectively like, "Oh GOD, what did we just watch that was horrific." Those screams are going to haunt me for months. #CinemaCon2026 THANKS 20TH CENTURY.

The version of #ForgottenIsland I saw was incomplete but I really liked what I saw. It might be one of the weirder things Dreamworks has made but the fundamental story of friendship is one that will resonate with everyone. I look forward to seeing the final version. #CinemaCon

The world is a worse place without Natalie in it. It's deeply, fundamentally baffling that the universe continues to allow so many beautiful souls to leave far too soon while awful ones are given the privilege of continuing on. gofund.me/af6cfc265

I'm very sorry to report to everyone that I attempted to break the habit of keeping The Good Box, because what would you need a random box for? And said Good Box just fit some things absolutely perfectly, and now we are justifying the worst possible hoarding habit.
I'm about to go super niche on main, but oh well. Someone posted the first paragraph of My Immortal the other day because it's apparently been 20 years since that infamous fic was uploaded to the internet. I was looking at it with all the comments and the way people talk about it now,
I just got another possible interview opportunity, and the sheer comedy that I, the person who infamously isn't that into horror, keep getting invited to and opportunities to horror and horror adjacent things is unmatched.
On a scale of 1-10 how funny is it that my suggestion for Christmas TV watching with the fam is IT Chapters one and two and Welcome to Derry with my King loving parents? #ITWelcomeToDerry

Almost a year ago, I said all of the info we had at the time for #AvengersDoomsday appeared to be very reactionary to the post-Endgame films not hitting as hard as Marvel wanted them to. The rumored reveals appear to be proving me more right than ever. bleedingcool.com/movies/is-av...
Is Avengers: Doomsday An Overreaction To Underperforming Post-Endgame?
The recent creative decisions regarding Avengers: Doomsday are playing it safe. Is this an overreaction to Marvel underperforming post-Endgame and in 2023?
bleedingcool.com
Rumor is that #Marvel is going to release multiple #AvengersDoomsday trailers attached to #AvatarFireAndAsh to try and get people to see it more than once. The fact that people think #Avatar is rewatchable baffles me. There are so many easier ways to get a migraine. Just don't drink any water.
I got to see #28YearsLater: #TheBoneTemple last month, and what an experience. Deeply unsettling and disturbing, yet also weirdly funny and hopeful. All eyes will be on Jack and Ralph, but Erin Kellyman and Chi Lewis-Parry are amazing and the quiet MVPs of the entire film.

#AvatarFireAndAsh is a visual masterpiece. If you love these movies, it's more of the same, but story-wise, it's the same "capture/rescue" plot over and over again with some laughable dialogue thrown in the middle. The runtime is criminal, and if you have eye issues, avoid the 3D.

"Running out of stories to tell one another" has got to be one of the dumbest things I've seen from a major outlet in a hot minute.
"For years, going to the movies was an almost definitionally American habit," Caitlin Flanagan writes. She reflects on her childhood spent growing up at the movies and what it means that "we're running out of stories to tell one another."
I hope everyone isn't just realizing that both Wicked movies are shot and lit in a way that, even when they decide to use practical effects, everything still looks fake as hell. Here I am being right back in March. bsky.app/profile/kait...
The only #Oscar worthy thing about the production design of #Wicked was how they managed to make a film that utilized primarily practical sets look fake as hell. That train is real, looks fake, and I hate it. I had someone look at me like I was lying when I told them it was real. #Oscars2025
For all the people acting smug about #WakeUpDeadMan not showing in enough theaters, they should look up the date when the two-movie Netflix deal was finalized. Spoiler alert: we were heading into the second year of a certain pandemic, and the future exhibition was in question.
🧵 Today is the first time since 2004 that I'm not beginning National Novel Writing Month. I had a feeling things were bad when I looked at their fundraising goals last year, but I thought they would scale back, not nuke the entire event and the entire website.
I went to the dentist today and told my hygienist I was seeing #BlackPhone2. She wasn't sure about seeing it in theaters because she sometimes gets a little screamy in horror movies. Ma'am, horror movies, more than anything, thrive in packed theaters with people reacting around you.
