I've caught wind of a genAI service called "SciFig" marketing itself to academics as a way of creating figures for assignments, dissertations, papers, etc. I urge my peers to avoid it, and for those with power to influence departmental policy to seek pathways towards banning it.
I have no idea how I managed to do it, but at some point yesterday (a day in which I did nothing but sit, stand, and walk) I successfully obliterated my upper back, and am now in tremendous amounts of pain. I think I'm just built different, in that I am built very much incorrectly.

Proud of the DinoCon team for standing up for the community and for celebrating human art and artists ❤️ I was heartbroken and disappointed with that talk specifically, but being part of a community of incredible, creative, kind people who are so supportive of each other - that is special. ❤️

Has to be said that #dinoconuk has mushroomed since I last attended. It is now HUGE. But the main takeaway remains that the demographic is staggeringly diverse and entirely inclusive. All welcome. It's enriching and life-affirming.
