I think the problem with this is that it's incredibly expensive in the situations where it's most helpful ( IE it's actually profitable to run privately only because they are providing a worse service than the public could ) and polling rarely drills down on this or on (1/2)

Renationalisation of public services is generally, typically popular in almost all cases, for instance.

Thank you, the both of you. I've gotten a lot out of Knowledge Fight over the years. This is a good time to end it, if you feel like it needs to end. If you did continue the show it would indeed in a real way be something else now, even if you continued with the archival eps and his new show.

We have needed to take a little breaky, so unfortunately this Friday, it is Jafar. Sadly, when it is Jafar, there is no new episode of the podcast.

The retouched VODs for Drawn to Dawn are up on the streaming platforms for those who care about such things (and still available for about another 4 days ). ( Not sure if this will make much difference, the original take doesn't have any glaring problems )

He obviously doesn't believe this as part of any kind of coherent understanding of the electorate though because he thinks Democrats will lose more if NY elects a Rep suiting New York rather than Texas ( maaaybe Arizona to be generous )

I think MattY's basic axiom is that, no matter how bad the GOP gets, they will always win about half of elections. I think both that that is false and that his horizons are too limited for how to respond to it
