The heat wave in France has been beyond terrible: 41°C (106°F) for two days, then 39°C (102°F) for another couple of days. It's been so hot I can still feel my brain working in slow motion. Temperatures are starting to come down, but indoor temperatures take a while longer to follow suit, too.

I like the way of the pun. It's all in good fun. These quick jokes have a good run. Shine like a small sun. Till someone pulls out a gun.

I decided to make a comic strip out of an anecdote from some time ago that left a bit of an impression on me. I've become more socially aware over the last few years, more able to decipher red flags and dogwhistles, and it's been surprising to see just how close bigots can be, hidden in plain sight.

Here's another remaster, right on time for Easter. Valina gave Dana some chocolate eggs (and then they had seggs). I haven't been posting much lately cause I've been working on some 3D modeling and coding stuff. Hopefully I'll be able to share some of that at some point sooner than later.

A picture from 2022 that I had never posted as I wasn't satisfied with it, until I retouched it now. This portrays my characters (Catherine, Cassandre, Camille) the first time they split up into three bodies instead of just being confined to one. They had a lot to talk about.

Back to art, and now finally going into OC territory, here's a repurposed drawing from 2021. Valina loves carrying her loved ones. Cassandre loves having her feet on the ground. A true love story.

So I noticed that a few people started following this account due to my moderation list... Thing is, I would rather this remained mostly an account for art and other endeavors of mine, so what I did instead was set up a separate account for moderation-related stuff: bsky.app/profile/kana...

So my analysis of the troll situation... it likely all started from an infamous "anti-woke" Twitter account that spread misinformation about Bluesky, leading to a brigading campaign, likely by that account's followers, against this site. Easily recognizable by repeated, low effort calling cards.

I've been monitoring the situation with trolls coming in here from the other place over the past few days, and I've noticed a sudden influx of dozens of accounts created over the last hour spamming very similar messages. Someone or a group of people must be botting big time.

Reaching the end of non-OC personal art to remaster, with this 2023 piece. When I first drew that Reisen pic for the year of the rabbit, I tried mixing my style with a bit of signature Touhou... "ZUN style", but it was a pretty bad idea looking back, so I went fully my own style this time.

I didn't think I would revisit this as I haven't cared for MLP in a long time, but art is art and it's not like I hate it or anything. Looking back, it's wild to me how that show took the world by storm and became a cultural phenomenon, when it was just... fine ? Was it the Lauren Faust effect ?

That one came spontaneously from a conversation back in 2019 and I still kinda love the concept of Splatoon-Gorgons. Thinking about it just now, I could imagine stealth missions where you have to stay hidden in ink while in their field of vision.

There is a lot I could say right now, but I'd rather wait for my emotions to cool down before doing so. What I will say is that current events have accelerated my departure from the other place, so I'll probably dump a lot of older stuff in here in batches. Sorry if that's an inconvenience.

I have redone this picture so many times over the years... I thought I was done with it in 2021, but there was still more I could do to improve it. That said, I think I'm done with it at this point... If I do fanart again anytime soon, it would still probably be FF7-related. I loved Rebirth to bits.

That one was a bit more involved... didn't have that little moon bunny in the original 2018 version, but I felt it was a fun little touch to add. I made the original picture back when the whole "Earth-chan" thing was all the rage, but I didn't want to use the same tired old design so I made my own.

There's the other piece I wanted to remaster for Halloween, though there was very little to remaster in the first place ; it's one of those few pictures I feel I got basically just right the first time around. I kinda wish the Metal Gear series kept going with memorable bosses after 4, that said...

I thought this was a good picture to remaster with Halloween coming up, as it was heavily influenced by Alien: Isolation when I drew it back in 2021. It was particularly tough to work again on this though, as it was more painted than drawn, which I don't have quite as much experience with.

Jumping back to 2021... another picture I couldn't look back at without cringing, that I feel looks a lot better with a redrawn face. I really didn't pay as much attention as I should have to paler skin colors ; which is kind of necessary for some characters like Terra. Well, you live and learn.

Another rework (from 2019 this time) where I feel like redrawing the face entirely (and the hair to some extent) really brought it together. Going more anime-ish just makes characters more endearing to me, I don't know why I took so long to go back to... where I started artistically, looking back.

Looking back, I did mostly fanart back in 2018... and sadly quite a bit of it was from a series that has since fully disappointed me and that I do not want to look back to. Still, Kingdom Hearts remains one of my favorites to this day ; in fact, I replayed 2 recently. So, here's a revised Anti-Aqua.

Back to 2017 art, a lot of it was related to a game project I was working on that didn't pan out in the end. Drew quite a few assets for it between concept arts, model references, UI elements and other artwork, so I decided to clean them all up a bit and drop them here.

Bit of a detour through my 2021 art as I'm just done remastering this piece. Back then I was leaving too much to a custom shader in Blender, so I decided to reshade the skin manually for more consistency, and also a closer look to the original art style. Can't believe Ace Attorney 6 was 2016...
