12 years ago today I got my acceptance letter for @seseasu.bsky.social ASU! I can't believe it's been that long, but I also can't believe how much I've experienced and grown in this last decade+. Thank you to all the cheerleaders and angels along the way ❤️

#HWO “is exactly the kind of bold, forward-leaning science that only NASA can undertake,” said NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman. “We […] intend to move with urgency, and expedite timelines to the greatest extent possible to bring these discoveries to the world.” www.nasa.gov/news-release...

Things have been crazy as I finish up work at ASU, so I’ve been looking forward to this block of time I set aside to read my first #LettersToAPreScientist pen pal letter of the year! It’s always a thrill to see stickers that align with your interests (food) and to get some surprises 😍

Greetings from the UTCT Basics of CT Data Visualization and Analysis for Geological Applications with ImageJ workshop! Thanks to Romy and Dave for all their help even before the workshop 🙌🏻 #GSA2025

The Tracing Rocky Exoplanet Compositions (TREC) workshop "Under the Atmospheric Hood: How Geochemical Cycles Affect Exoplanet Biosignatures" will be held at ASU in Tempe, AZ Jan. 12–14 (after the AAS meeting in Phoenix). Applications close 10/15 trec-nexss.org/workshop See the thread for more info!

How does lava sound when it comes to the surface of the Earth? Listen to a lava flow oozing out of its effusive vent high on the southwestern side of #Etna, 28 August 2025. That day no visits by tourists were allowed on the site, which permitted this (relatively) clean recording

Now we have Kara Brugman talking about goechemical habitability. Volcanoes are a crust factory for planets and also a mechanism for transporting volatiles from the interior to the surface and therefore atmosphere. Geochemical context is therefore critical for interpreting biosignatures. #HWO25
