Pro tip, folks: if you make a figure for a publication, don’t just hand the copyright over to the publisher. Post it on OSF first and then give yourself permission to use it in the first publication and then all future publications. That way, no permissions issues.

Good luck Karen! We’ll be rooting* for you Please do support Karen if you can. All money raised is being doubled by a matched funder. (* niche pun for those who know babies 😎)

Psychological distress over 30 years in Great Britain: the times they are a changin’ (or are they?) buff.ly/qpu4p0f 🧵 THREAD #MentalHealth #PsychologicalDistress #Surveys #GB #30years

I had a fabulous day of walking near Thirlmere yesterday as training for the big challenge walk I’m doing in June. I could see the Solway Firth and Scottish hills over Bassenthwaite. It’s so peaceful yet invigorating.

This week, I spoke with one of the Duolingo contractors impacted by its 'new' AI strategy, and they clarified that 1) it's not new. Duolingo has *already* fired an estimated 100 writers and translators. 2) they worked for months training an AI system that still makes egregious mistakes.

Bluesky has gone very quiet again. I still miss the early days of Twitter when folk chatted about various interesting topics and shared knowledge across different specialities. People were mostly respectful and curious and liked a gentle laugh together.

Delighted to meet my compadres in the 25-26 cohort of the Clore Social Leadership Established Leaders course this morning. I can see I’m going to learn loads from and with these folk, so I’m really looking forward to getting cracking next week.

Many parents think they aren't doing enough with their children, but there are so many little things they are already doing everyday - without even realising - which builds love, trust, connection & confidence. Let's celebrate and shout about the great job that parents are doing! ❤️ #parenting
