I#WednesdayWisdom for people caring for family members "Sometimes the most compassionate response begins with feeling safe in ourselves." Before a person finds themselves in a family caring role, they often notice a change in the person they become a carer for – their landscape shifts. 1/4

Creating a dementia-friendly garden
Eight ways to make a garden more accessible for people living with dementia

#AlzChat other favourites include taking sketchpads and watercolour paints or colour pencils and just create colourful images ... no particular rules other than play with the colours you can see in the garden and 'feel' them on the page
#AlzChat Nice summer activity @karriemarshall.bsky.social
Admiral's Café is a warm, welcoming monthly café for those living with dementia and the people who care for them. Enjoy friendship, activities, hot drinks, homemade treats and plenty of conversation.
#AlzChat Summer smoothies - easy to make - easy to drink #dementiacare. @irememberbetter.bsky.social @creativecaring.bsky.social @natrese.bsky.social
#AlzChat - sticking with garden related themes for summer activities in dementia care - how about an easy to use garden schedule. Can help with a sense of purpose and meaning (although just 'being' in the garden is of itself valuable and meaningful.) 🌸🌸🌸
#AlzChat have fun making a 'waspinator' - this is designed to keep wasps away from picnics by looking like a wasp's nest. This is simple version using bubble-wrap filler/ could use scrunched up paper, papered , string. Many would appreciate this.

Have you ever been to Wit’s End and wished you could get ‘home’? Not the wonderful Wit’s End Café in Whitby, but the Wit’s End written about in the 14th Century by William Langland. The Wit’s End that is so perplexing, that not even astronomers (who look outside the world), know what to do. 1/5
I have tracked shifts in staff support since the 1990’s. It is good to see we are now in a time of transition There is growing re-recognition that staff thrive best in supportive environments. SThis matters because staff are human. www.karriemarshall.com/staff-support
