Not really, #pitchdis. I suppose it should be "Wild One," since that's the title of my project, but I drafted a lot of it to Lindsey Stirling music, so there are songs from her albums that remind me of particular scenes that I wrote while listening to her.

Day 9 of 12 Days of #PitchDis! Today's question: Is there a song that reminds you of your book? Make sure to include the #PitchDis hashtag in your reply and search the hashtag to see the replies of other participants.

🎵...Whooaaa Living on a prayer! 🎵 #pitchdis, the book I #amquerying is in first person, single POV. I don’t mind stories told in multiple, but I feel like single is more intimate, and I enjoy writing in first person.

🎵Whoooaaa, we're halfway thereeee🎵 Ahem, okay. I'll stop singing now. But we're on day 6 of 12 Days of #PitchDis! Today's question: Is your story written from a single point of view or multiple points of view? Make sure to include the #PitchDis hashtag in your reply.

You know, #pitchdis, I am a little embarrassed. I just realized I can't pitch anything for this contest. I'm not disabled. I hope it's okay to still meet and greet. The book I'm querying took 1 year to draft, but another 2 and a half to revise/rewrite.

Happy 17, #kidlitchat! In the book I #amquerying, a MG NIV I celebrate my MC's bday with her fav color! She describes her fav foods, activities, & people with pink. Doing this showed not only her unique personality, but also her family culture.

TOPIC: #kidlitchat is 17 this month! Which is . . . REALLY OLD in social media years! How do you use milestones to shape your characters? How do all the "firsts," the annual celebrations, and the rites of passage provide opportunities to define character?

Oh, #pitchdis! Let me count. Before high school, 5. During/after college, 3 MG plus 4 (or so) PBs and 2 CBs. I'm working on a third CB right now. Wow! 14. I've never counted before. #amquerying, though? 3 so far.

Hello, #pitchdis! I'm a mama of two littles. I write #MG novel in verse, #CB, and sometimes #PB. I love poetry, fruit smoothie bobas, and reading with my family. I have been #amquerying... for a while. 😝

Oh, this is tough! I'm interested in seeing what others have to say. But my first gut reaction is that it's all in the VERBS. I'm a strong believer in choosing descriptive verbs! But I think establishing specific STAKES is probably the key to emotion. So, maybe a combination of both. #kidlitchat

TOPIC: When you're pitching your manuscript (in any form - query letter, elevator, pitch contest), how do you communicate how the reader is going to FEEL when they're done, not just tell the story of what happens? What are your tips to finding the way to give a reaction to your pitch-ee? #kidlitchat

Dear Arizona, please open museums, bookstores (etc) earlier when it's 90 before 9(am). It's a sweaty mess packing the kids up in 105 heat to be somewhere that doesn't open until 10. 🤦‍♀️🌵#azproblems

The #SmallPitch pitch submission window is now OPEN for 48 hours! Key reminders: - Unagented writers only - Finished manuscripts only - One pitch per manuscript - Up to 3 manuscripts per writer - No hashtags in your pitch - Comps & emojis are okay

I'm late to the #kidlitchat party, but I did a lot of pitch prepping and submitted 3 stories to the MG Hub pitch event last week. 🎉 I'm looking forward to hopefully getting some interest in my work 🤞while I try to write more consistently!

TOPIC: We have a tradition here at #kidlitchat of checking in every quarter to share what we've been up to, career-wise. What have your past three months been like, and what's next? (Plans, daydreams and false starts are totally valid responses!)

#kidlitchat I have a QM doc. I modeled it after the one my friend and Query Queen, @dterkwrites.bsky.social shared with me. It's a Google doc that my answers FAQs in QM and links to my current query and synopsis and first pages docs. Then I research 1-5 agents each week and query them Saturdays.

TOPIC: Let's talk... queries! What are your best tips for writing it great query? What do you avoid or, if you receive queries, reallllly dislike seeing? And... who and what are you querying these days? #kidlitchat

#kidlitchat This is probably scandalous, but rereading my own words while drafting is part of my process. I know you're not "supposed to" do that, but I am a holistic writer, and I need to see and feel what I've written the day before in order to write more.
