Missed some of my daily posts. Last week was rough. Really sinking in how left out I've been after doing the minimal work to implement an accessible interface to this thing. Really fucked with me. As a result I fell behind on work and am now paying for it by not having rent money.

Update: It's not inspiring that blind girl had to make her own accessibility tools while y'all were just over here having community and doing nothing about it. That's actually an an indictment of you. Doublyy so if your first reaction was inspiration and not guilt.

Oh no really — ableism looked great on you for the last 2.5 years — don't pretend to care now. I don't need your performative solidarity. I clearly have to just make the world more inclusive to blind folks by my goddamn self.

I'm not a front end dev. How many of you are? How many of you front end devs call yourselves an ally? Already had the skills? And in 2.5 years not a single one of you fucking tried? Reached out to me to help solve the problem?

Can you tell I'm fucking pissed that I had to make this accessible for my self and it was fucking easy and you all let me down?

And now I'm just furious that you all let it go on this long and forced me to make my own fucking accommodations — again? Are you fucking kidding me? It was this simple and not a single person from bluesky devs to allies to random devs just .... fucking fixed it?

At first I was so excited to be able to scroll the timeline. To read all your posts -- finally! To see so many names I used to see on twitter. So much info I've been excluded from the last 2.5 years.

In Portland, "community" looks like all your comrades leaving you out in the cold, not standing up for you, not stepping up to help — and then cheering for you when you solve the problem your fucking self. Thanks for making me have to make my own bluesky client, assholes.
