Weird how taking a break from writing novels has made me a better novelist. I opened my book that I last looked at in 2021 and saw exactly how to fix it. And it felt good.

Some days you're a bar wench, some days you're an adventurer, and some days you're a bad Oscar Wilde impersonator in a toga. Just another day as a professional in the games industry. 😂
I feel weird posting this given the news from ZA/UM, but Zero Parades is a thought-provoking game that deserves more attention. I talk on art as a tool of soft power, middle-aged women in games, and how you can’t save scum life. Video: youtu.be/4y_iACJ4PnE Essay: www.katclay.com/replayabilit...

My friends and colleagues James and David are launching their gorgeous TTRPG Time Without Tide. Have I had a sneaky look inside? Yes. Is it amazing? Yes. You definitely want to back this one.

There was a movie novelization of Bram Stoker's Dracula and it's blowing my mind that it's not actually the original novel.
I pay monthly book tax to keep bookstores alive. What you do is you go into the bookstore, pick out some books that seem interesting, and pay. You do not have to read them! This surefire strategy will keep the book tax collectors off your back.
I'm taking my time with Zero Parades. It's got me thinking deeply about time in video games, and I want to write a longer essay on it. But in the meantime, this is my current favourite line: "We are all a moron local to somebody."
Fantastic panel at Willy Lit Fest on speculative fiction, politics, genre definitions and believe it or not, stick insects. Great moderating from @clairegcoleman.bsky.social with Romy Ash, John Morrissey, and Rhett Davis.

So, funny story. I scripted this video on why I love Call of Cthulhu so much before I got hired by Chaosium. I actually had to re-record it after the announcement. 😂 Anyway here's why y'all should be playing Call of Cthulhu: youtu.be/BGMU4uC9sjk

Vale Marjane Satrapi. I remember discovering Persepolis when I lived in France 20 years ago, and it inspired me to write my own biographical comics. I never became a comic writer, but that expression of creativity led me to write my first completed works in a year that changed my life.
The highlight from my trip to Swancon was meeting one of my literary heroes, Cthulhu. The elder god was keeping a low profile but I was such a fan they let me take this selfie.
Happy 50th, Swancon! A great time was had. Now time to retreat to my writing cave. 📸 With @katclay.com
Played my first ever game of Vampire: the Masquerade! 🧛 My Ventrue character wheeled and dealed their way to the top of Perth's power struggles under a very appropriate chandelier.
It's exciting, and yet a bit surreal, to see my name on a Chaosium publication. Thanks @lynneahardy.bsky.social for the opportunity to write for RoL!

Sorting out the games cupboard... Some thoughts: 1. I've been gaming a long time 2. I am old 3. Yes that is a copy of Star Wars Pod Racer.
It's official! I'm now a member of the Chaosium editorial team. I am so excited to be working on Call of Cthulhu and games I am so passionate about. 🦑
