No better time than two hours before the trade deadline to learn about Mark McGwire's kids: "On June 1, 2010, their triplet girls were born: Monet Rose, Marlo Rose, and Monroe Rose. They joined brothers Max and Mason."

how are the Dodgers the villains for doing what it takes to win? Let's talk about the gutless cowards in the mix www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/dod...
The Dodgers aren't the biggest villains in the Tarik Skubal trade -- the cowardly teams who let it happen are
Baseball's problem isn't that the Dodgers traded for Tarik Skubal, it's who let the trade happen

One of the most disingenuous narratives (in a long list of disingenuous narratives) around Skubal and the Dodgers is that superteams are bad entertainment. Don't lie to me and tell me you would watch the Rays if they had gotten him instead.
I had a nightmare that the Tigers made the playoffs anyway and the takeaway became that it's good, actually, to trade away your best player, not that mediocrity is going to kill this sport.
A salary cap isn't going to make the small-market teams good enough at player development and acquisition to put together better trade returns.
Braves didn't even get to break their own trade. How the mighty have fallen.
Happy trade deadline weekend from the only place in town with good enough wi-fi that I can still work.
Jacob deGrom broke a finger right before spring training helping a neighbor castrate a cow.
Let's remember some Baseball Injuries! I'll go first: Glenallen Hill having a nightmare about spiders that was so bad he fell out of bed and through a glass table
It's going to be a great bit when we have a sub-.500 playoff team and then the league pushes through playoff expansion in the CBA two months later.
Congrats to the new worst press release I've ever gotten.
I've gotten into this pattern of using vacation planning to stave off the misery and it's worked well so far, but I keep getting this sinking feeling that it's an untenable solution.
Honestly, "I know I work for state media BUT" and then spouting complete propaganda is a great bit.
The most annoying part of the Mets is that you can easily see exactly where it could have all gone right.
"Set in the summer of 2000 and follows a group of Irish college girls who descend on the neon playground that is Wildwood, New Jersey" from the creator of DERRY GIRLS is a fever dream I didn't know I had. deadline.com/2026/07/lisa...

I've spent this entire concert saying that John Cougar Mellencamp is who Bruce Springsteen thinks he is and now Jarrett is mostly not talking to me.
My strongest-held belief is that you can just ignore morons on social media. You don't have to reply to them. You don't have to screenshot them. You don't have to subtweet them. You don't have to react to them in any way. You can and should just ignore them.
Almost positive I've complained about this here before but I physically cannot call my doctor's office and it's one of the more insane traits of the modern healthcare system. I have to call an answering service, leave a message and hope they eventually call me back. There's simply no direct line.
Accidentally blurted out "because Tony Clark couldn't keep it in his pants" on a work call today, which, while probably inappropriate, was also entirely accurate.
The new Gracie Abrams album is good, not great, but its main issue is that the vocals are all so flattened. The difference between the recordings and the live performances, and the same with Noah Kahan's new album live vs. recording, makes me think Aaron Dessner is the problem.
SNY is showing 2024 Game 161 during the rain delay and I forgot about the tiny uniform font.
Overly bitter about losing multiple Ticketmaster battles in a row but I also refuse to believe that Michelle Branch sold out immediately.
I know everyone keeps complaining about the Polymarket ads but I keep getting one advertising...the concept of AI, I guess? And I think how it's going to cure my depression?
I definitely thought the kids on bikes were going to start doing the 1989 choreography from the Eras Tour for a second.
