When I see Tom Cruise doing a World Cup intro monologue within days of seeing the trailer for his new movie, and a "viral" tweet on Reddit about him hanging with AMC employees at the Odyssey, I just want to run into the woods. It's all so obviously manufactured & choreographed. I want to be free.

Watched "Night of the Hunter" last night and it is potentially the best movie I've ever seen. Robert Mitchum is incredible and the dreamlike cinematography! Wow. I can see why it has been so influential for later filmmakers.

“To me, recent Claudes & GPTs do in fact feel less honest, & more focused on superficially looking good rather than truly being good…. this difference did in fact start cropping up right around the RLVR boom (it was very striking in o3)” @nostalgebraist.bsky.social www.lesswrong.com/posts/f5DKLs...
