Yesterday, I went to the Arabia Steamboat Museum in KC. The boat sunk in 1856 and was located by a team of amateur adventurers in 1988. They recovered 200+ tons of cargo, the largest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world. Meeting team member David Hawley elevated the experience.
My highly regarded school principal had a sweet little boy who grew up and disappeared. Today I learned that on Thanksgiving 2021, he got drunk and drove 65 in a 35 into the back of a stopped car, killing two senior citizens. He is serving a 17 year prison sentence now. So sad.

I have watched nearly all of DjangoCon US online. A moment happened during Day 3 lightning talks that was very meaningful. The longtime conference photographer Bartek Pawlik did a lightning talk of photos from DjangoCon. If you <3 this conference, it is a must-watch.
DjangoCon US 2027 will take place in Riverside, California from September 13-17. Right now the early-early bird tickets are the lowest price they will ever be.

Today, I used the last of a Ghanian chocolate bar Abigail Dogbe gave me at PyCon US to make the most perfectly delicious mocha. I made it with a large shot of coffee made in an AeroPress, the chocolate, and nutpods non-dairy French vanilla creamer.
Despite the fact that I think Grey Gardens is an odd choice for #1, I love this list, because it doesn't include many of the usual ones. www.hollywoodreporter.com/lists/best-d...

I need an explainer. Is Argentina trying? Are they tired? Are they just not as good as Spain?
I feel sorry for the Argentinian goalkeeper. He's had to make so many saves. Surprised Spain has the ball so much. It seems like the odds are in their favor if they just keep making shots.
