Doing marketing at Spinal CMS.

With the latest release of Spinal you can now "invite" an AI-powered team member. We used this internally and it helps with some of the typical tedious tasks like finding internal link suggestion or even asking for suggestions for a word (sometimes I am lazy).

Your LinkedIn impressions fell and you did nothing wrong. Yikes! LinkedIn replaced broad reach for relevant reach. Less reach, better fit. A good post now needs a clear audience, because the feed routes each post to the people it can identify.

Search measurement used to be one line: rank, click, convert. Yay! AI search broke it. Boo! The answer now arrives before the click (and often without one). Your analytics never see that step.

The features coming to Spinal are really exciting for (small) marketing teams. Things are going to get so much easier to get done faster and better. That is all I can say, right now! 😅

The pitch for single page apps was always “it’s faster after the first load”. Google’s Core Web Vitals, used in search ranking, now measure soft navigations. It’s true: LCP drops by about a third. But, I don't think SPAs are ever really worth all the compromises and extra code.

Chart: LCP for 11 single page apps, today vs with soft navigations counted. Most drop sharply, e.g. Netlify 4.72s to 2.36s, Bluesky 4.25s to 2.14s, Airbnb 2.28s to 1.04s. ASOS gets slightly slower. Chrome UX Report, 14 Sep to 11 Oct 2026.

One the coolest (new) features from spinalcms.com is templates ✨ It give you a ready-made starting point for new content. Each collection has a default template that pre-fills body (and frontmatter) of every new resource. Set a default for every new resource or select one by command/right click.

Zero-click does not mean zero-website. Impressions climb while visits fall. Your site now works before anyone arrives. It feeds AI Overviews, ChatGPT answers, and Perplexity citations. I do not make the rules. 🤷 For your static site, that is not a threat. It is your existing workflow.

SEO on a static SaaS site still works. But AI search changed where buyers start. 51% of B2B buyers now begin research in a chatbot more often than in Google. Ranking first no longer decides it. Getting cited inside the AI answer does.

Google now lets readers pick your site as a "preferred source." Those readers then see your content flagged with a badge in Top Stories, AI Mode and AI Overviews. It is optional, and it asks something of you first. My thoughts.
