In our three sisters garden, the beans have decided to tie everything together. Here is one of the purple pole beans that grew about 60cm over to gently grab one of the pumpkin leaves.

It’s hot. Our heat pump (which does the A/C) is still pooched despite a second board being replaced. While complaining of being hot and sticky, we had to decide what to do with a bunch of lemons. Briefly considered pie, curd, bars. Nah. I put the kids to work juicing. Perfect lemonade.

Found out my rapist - who is a repeat sex offender - is scheduled to be released from jail the day after my birthday and the crown appeal of his sentence (they appealed it as ‘demonstrably unfit’ as it is only around half of what it should be) may not be decided or even heard before he’s let out.
Used the last of the cherries from the one tree to make jam. Absolutely delicious. I would never make this if I had to buy them. Cherries are freaking expensive.

I am not above climbing trees to harvest fruit. The tart Montmorency cherries should start being ready to pick next week. For now we’re enjoying the sweet rainier cherries.
