It's #FoodWastePreventionWeek! Columbus households waste up to $2,000 in food each year. By recycling food scraps, you can save money, enrich local soil and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Small changes make a big difference for your wallet and for our planet.
Food date labels are often misunderstood as being when food is bad. This isn’t true (except for baby formula) and is one of the reasons food goes to the landfill. These labels are set by manufacturers, and most foods are safe to eat after the listed date. #FoodWastePreventionWeek

Welcome to fall! Remember that leaving leaves on the ground is the best option—but if you must collect and dispose of them, composting at home or bagging them in paper bags and setting them out for yard waste collection are good alternatives. Never toss them in the trash.

The final scores are in for Columbus Litter League and our community won with over 204,750 pounds of litter being collected this season. Thanks to the Columbus Clippers and all the volunteers for making this season another success!
