Proud to *not* be a MAGA (Misogynistic Amoral Gaslighting Ass-hole).

I often think about Niemöller’s powerful warning. Its relevance to our current predicament cannot be overstated. If America’s silent majority chooses to remain silent right now, they risk being silenced forever…and the world will suffer for it. This is our test. It’s our time to step up.

First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me And there was no one left
To speak out for me

I just finished season 4 of The Diplomat, and it ended exactly how Trump’s first term should’ve ended. I’m looking forward to seeing what the writers come up with for season 5.

@davidjolly.bsky.social Florida voters, I'm posting this in case you need, like I did, more details about the result of voting "yes" on amendment 3. I'll vote "no" because I don't want to place a financial burden on businesses, which will cascade to us, and cause apartment renters to go homeless.

Google AI's answer to the question "how will florida raise funds if property taxes are eliminated?"

@angieforfl.bsky.social What do you think about pushing this ⬇️ to help both the food-service workers and the general public? Tipping has become such a divisive subject that people are reluctant to go out, which is a drain both on the economy and on wages of the people who depend on tips.

Also an economy where food-service wages can be increased to a level where tipping can be eliminated. Tips can be replaced by wage increases that are based on performance, which should incentivize workers to perform well.

From what I’ve heard, AI is poised to displace most of our workforce, all of whom are consumers and tax payers. This makes me wonder: How will corporations survive the loss of most consumers, and how will all levels of government survive the loss of most sales and income taxes?

Because of Trump's vanity fireworks display, Washington DC's air is so polluted that a "code purple" warning was issued. Here's DC's AQI approximately 12 hours after the fireworks:

So similar to Trump and his reflecting pool: In Greek mythology, the gods punished Narcissus for his arrogance by causing him to fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. He became so captivated that he pined away and died by the water's edge.

Trump's genocidal insanity will leave office with him. But, unless that happens now, his lasting legacy will be the stain that sticks to the United States for a century; the country so flawed, cowardly and toothless, that it was unable and unwilling to stop an obviously mad tyrant.

@support.bsky.team I’ve found that expanding (double-tapping) a photo, turning the phone horizontally, returning the phone to vertical, and then closing the photo results in Bluesky returning to the first post in my feed instead of the post that contains the photo.
