There’s life in the old girl yet…

As I typically do when September finally arrives, I feel I am coming alive once more. The summer shutdown is ending; my heart is once again teased by the delicious muse. I recently found some music whose lyrics sparked an inspirational fire inside me. I find myself in one of those "I want to read everything and write everything" moods. Lyrics are just poetry set to music.

Good things…

I felt incredibly positive today. That's not necessarily my default setting. Or at least, it hasn't been for quite a long time. However, I admit my recent shift in mindset has greatly reduced my stress levels and my overall unhappiness. That's not to say I don't still get low sometimes; I'm only human. I just don't live there like I used to.

Too Deep for the Substack…

I debated whether or not to write this here or on the Substack, but the blog ultimately won out. This is kind of deep, so it's maybe not the right fit for the ol' stack. This will be a bit long, so if you're hoping for a quick read, you might want to set it aside for later. I have a lot of feelings clamoring around inside me and I'm going to get wordy.

Into the unknown…

I find myself in new territory today. I recently decided to retire my pen name and online persona to move forward creatively using my real name. This wasn't an easy decision. I spent the last 6+ years cultivating Twisted Libra. She was part of me, but she also embodied facets of life that I never really pursued. She was unapologetically goth, reveled in the paranormal, and lived in her own cemetery.

Welcome to my blog. If you are already a subscriber, you will notice that a lot has changed around here. This blog was formerly titled "Dancing Among the Remains." It served as an outlet for me under the guise of my pen name, Twisted Libra. I recently decided to retire my pen name and begin publishing under my real name. There is a lot to unpack here, and I promise I will get to that.

Unfortunately, in order to properly promote Twisted Libra, I must have a Facebook Page. To have a Facebook Page, I need a Profile. So, I tucked my tail between my legs and set one up.

I did a thing, my lovelies. I spent the better part of today completely rebuilding my website. If you recall, several months ago I encountered a problem with my site being offline. I initially built the site through Google, but when they ceased operations on their website support, I migrated the domain over to WordPress. However, the settings established by Google became somewhat incompatible with the WordPress settings.
