I too am reading Ministry for the Future. Had to take a break because I’m not sure it gets better. It reads like it is prescient. The first bit is gutting having to do with a horrific heat wave.

Power went out this morning for about 20ish minutes. Got a call from the power company saying it was restored and the outage “was caused by a squirrel coming into contact with our equipment.” Poor squirrel.
